The Dale mobile gas turbine generating sets combine the engineering expertise and packaging ability of Dale with the reliability and experience of Solar's gas turbines to provide a high quality, reliable source of power whenever and wherever it is required. The Dale mobile gas turbine generator set is a complete mobile power station, requiring only an external fuel supply for operation. Mounted on a purpose-built trailer, the package is designed to minimise installation times. It is a quiet, convenient and cost effective solution for the temporary supply of power.

The heart of the package is an industrial gas turbine. The gas turbines are of the single shaft industrial type, offering both reliability and ruggedness whilst still maintaining a high power to weight ratio and excellent response to large instantaneous load changes. Designed for continuous operation in conditions varying from the arctic winters of Alaska to the deserts of Africa and the Middle East, the turbines require a minimum of maintenance and have a designed time between overhauls in excess of 30,000 operating hours.

The mobile unit consists of a gas turbine generator set housed in an acoustically treated enclosure, together with a control room mounted on a simple trailer. It comes complete with an integral fuel tank and fuel transfer pump.

The unit can generate electricity at any voltage between 3,300 and 11,000V at a frequency of either 50 or 60 Hz, making it suitable for direct connection to a medium voltage distribution system. A second trailer unit housing a transformer can be supplied as an option to allow connection onto networks requiring a different voltage.

Complete with its own generator circuit breaker, the generating set can synchronise with other units or a grid system and can load share with other Dale mobile gas turbine generating sets.

The control system is based on a Programmable Logic Controller which automatically controls the sequencing and operation of the complete generator set and monitors all the turbine instrumentation, thereby requiring the minimum of operator intervention.

The gas turbines can operate on a wide variety of fuels, from natural gas and diesel to LPG and naphtha. The turbines can be provided with the dry low NOx combustion system when fuelled by natural gas, diesel or kerosene, which reduces the exhaust emissions to levels compliant with the majority of environmental legislation worldwide.

The generator sets are manufactured at our manufacturing facilities in Filey, North Yorkshire, UK, purpose built for the manufacture and test of a wide variety of generating sets up to 8000kVA at 11kV.
